What Is 3D Cone Beam Imaging?

​Traditional dental X-rays provide important two-dimensional images of your teeth and supporting structures.

 

A Cone Beam CT scan—or CBCT—takes imaging a step further.

 

During a CBCT scan, the imaging system rotates around your head and captures information that is reconstructed into a detailed three-dimensional image.

Instead of viewing your teeth and jaws from only one direction, your dentist can examine the area from multiple angles and evaluate structures that may be difficult to fully understand with traditional dental X-rays alone.
