EMERGENCY DENTISTRY

Severe or persistent tooth pain, swelling, a broken or knocked-out tooth, bleeding, or a lost filling or crown causing discomfort may require prompt dental care. If you’re unsure how urgent the problem is, call or text our office and tell us what you’re experiencing.

For a broken tooth, rinse gently with water and contact a dentist as soon as possible. If a permanent tooth is completely knocked out, handle it by the crown rather than the root, keep it moist—ideally by gently replacing it in the socket when possible or placing it in milk—and seek dental care immediately.

Dental or facial swelling accompanied by a fever can be a sign that an infection is spreading and may require emergency medical evaluation. Seek immediate medical care for swelling with difficulty breathing or swallowing, rapidly spreading facial or neck swelling, or other signs of becoming seriously ill.
